Welcome Mr. Carroll Conley: Carroll is the Executive Director of the Christian Civic League of Maine.  He is married with two children and one grandchild and lives in Glenburn, Maine

Summer Sermon Series: Tell Me the Old, Old Story”.  We’ll look at some of the Old Testament heroes and how their lives foreshadow the coming of Christ, and the lessons we can learn. 

Register Today for VBS: Registration forms and parent letters have been mailed, and extra forms are available at the VBS display in

Johnson Hall.  Thank you to the many MCC folks who have volunteered to help and/or have donated funds to help with costs.  See Kathy Daniel if you want to join the team or contribute to the program.  Sunday August 10 is setup day.  Stay a while after church to help us transform the church into the “Wilderness of the Exodus”!

MCC Cookbook: Time is running out to get your favorite recipes in MCC Cookbook: Recipe Collection Sheets are located on the back table in the sanctuary. Please read directions on back before completing form and leave them in the basket on the back table.  We are also looking for house hold tips and food related questions and answers to add to the book. Tentative deadline for receiving recipes is July 31st.

Augusta Food Bank: is in need of canned tuna fish, canned fruits, peanut butter, granola bars, canned soups and plastic/reusable bags to pack groceries in.  Throughout the month, AFB had 416 requests for food and provided a week’s worth of groceries to 983 people in Augusta and Manchester communities including more than 300 children and over 80 seniors.  Put items in the baskets at the back of the Sanctuary.

Church Directory List & Birthday/Anniversary Book Update: Please look at the Church Directory listing and the Birthday/Anniversary Book by the Church calendars in Johnson Hall and make any changes necessary.  Also please add your email address, if you have one. (If everything is correct please mark “OK” by your name).

Lobster Dinner: The Futures Group is sponsoring our 2nd annual Lobster or Hotdog Dinner on Sunday, August 24th after Church. This is a fellowship event for church family and friends. Single lobster is $9, double lobster is $14. All dinners need to be ordered and prepaid by August 10th. For more information see Debbie Maddox or Lynn Sweeney. 

Pew Cards: Visitors, please let us know you were here by filling out the Pew Card in the pew rack and drop it in the offering plate. 

Prayer Vine: You can use the pew card and drop it in the offering plate to help keep the Prayer Vine current.

Church Calendar:  Please add your church events to the official calendar outside the secretary’s office (using the pen provided) to reserve the space and time you need.

Upcoming Vendor Fair: Futures Group is sponsoring a first Vendor Fair October 18th 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the church.  Mark your calendar for holiday shopping– more info to follow.  Contact persons – Arlene Gagnon & Kelly Davenport (Jean Davenport’s daughter)


Summer Office Hours

Pastor Jack’s office hours are Wednesday 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and Friday 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Of course he is always available for pastoral emergencies at 508-423-0705 (cell) or 207-737-2047 (home).
