Today Pastor Jack is away officiating at the Baptism of his grandchildren.  Alec Rogers will preach his final sermon as our Pastoral Intern.

 

Oct. 26 Pastor Jack’s Last Sunday; Pastor Jack has resigned and Oct. 26 will be his last Sunday as our Pastor.  He will be missed by many.

Oct. 26 Special Congregational Meeting at 10:30 am immediately following a shortened service.

 

Augusta Food Bank is asking for peanut butter, jams, jellies on Oct 19th; and pasta and pasta sauce on Oct 26th. You can leave your donations in the back of the church.  Thanks

 

No Sunday School or Child Care on Sundays, Nov. 23rd and Dec. 21st.

Volunteers needed for new MCC Tech Team:  Adult and teen volunteers are needed to run the sound board.  Training will be provided.  Use the white pew card to sign-up.

 

Operation Christmas Child, a Samaritan’s Purse charitable program which sends Christmas gifts to children in different parts of the world.

To take part: Please add your name to the Sign-Up sheet. 1. Fill a box: Inside each box is a sheet of the suggested items and a boy/girl tag. Make sure to check off on the label whether you are buying for a boy or a girl and what age group.  Put the label in the top of your box when returning it. 2. Purchase a few items: For those just buying items, take a sheet from the table. 3. Give a $ donation for shipping. (make check payable “MCC Future”. We must have all boxes and items back by Sunday, October 19th so the boxes can be wrapped.  From the Future’s Group, thank you.

 

Augusta/Manchester Food Bank-Dinner and Auction on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014 at the Calumet Club in Augusta.  Doors open at 4:30 pm, dinner at 5:30 pm followed by a live auction.  Tickets are $25 per person or $175 per table of 8 (that means one free ticket for that table).  Tickets are available at the Manchester Town Office (be sure you tell them it is for a church table) or by seeing or calling Annette (622-6848).

 

Prayer Vine

Parents and friends of Nora Birch and Cassidy Charette, both students of Messalonski High School who died tragically this past week.  Also the parents and friends of Connor Garland, a Messalonskee High School student who is in a Boston hospital with a broken back and jaw suffered this past week in a tragic accident.  Let us keep all the students of Messalonskee High School in our prayers.
